I saw Andrew Kotting's new film 'Ivul' yesterday. A teenage angst story set off the ground, Ivul is the second in Kottings interesting trilogy with his third film to be set under the earth, as aposed to (Filthy Earth) on top, and (Ivul) above. Kotting's emphasis on the landscape is again present within the film, which is beautifully shot in the French Pyrenees. The film showed at the BFI and Kotting, along with his crew who made up the majority of the audience, was there to introduce the film and take questions. He seemed like a really great guy and I highly recomend the film as an introduction to a director who is part of an exciting new wave of british talent in film making.
